🚨 An accident occurred this afternoon (10/10/2026) when a car driving towards Galle on the Southern Expressway (E01) collided with a van driving ahead and overturned on the road near the 29th kilometer post. One of the occupants of the overturned car was injured in the accident, and the Highway Ambulance Service rushed the injured to the hospital for treatment. Due to the accident, the traffic in the lane leading to Galle was interrupted for a short time, and the highway traffic police units and the operation teams of the Road Development Authority worked together to remove the overturned vehicle and restore the road.
