🚨 An accident occurred in Peradeniya, Meevathura area yesterday (10/09/2026) at around 9:30 pm when a white Honda Fit GP5 car driven recklessly by a drunk driver lost control and hit a tree on the side of the road and rolled over. Due to high speed and the driver's drunkenness, the front bonnet cover, bumper and engine part of the car were severely crushed, and even the airbags were deployed. Three people who were traveling in the car at the time of the accident were injured and were taken to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital with the intervention of local residents and the police. The Peradeniya Police are conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
