🚨 An accident occurred today (10/10/2026) in Itthavil area between Muhamalei and Elutumattuwal in Kilinochchi district on A-9 (A9) main road when a modern white SUV/Crossover type car ran off the road and hit an electric pole and rolled over. Due to the high speed or the driver was unable to control the car, it pulled off the road and hit the base of a concrete high-powered electricity pole on the side of the road. Then the car overturned and stopped upside down near the embankment and ditch of the parallel railway track. Fortunately, the train did not come to a complete stop and a major disaster was avoided, and the local residents and the police have worked to save the people traveling in the train.
