🚨 Bulnewa - Azagala Road Y.M.C. In front of the agricultural store today (2026/10/12) around 10:28 am, a motorcycle on which two Sri Lanka Army soldiers were riding caught fire instantly in a security CCTV camera. When the two soldiers got on the motorcycle parked near the shop and were about to start it and drive forward, the carburettor or engine area of the motorcycle suddenly caught fire. At the same time, the two soldiers immediately jumped off the motorcycle and ran to a safe place. A person in the shop who saw the accident took action immediately and brought water to put out the fire, and due to the prompt alertness and action of the soldiers, a major disaster was avoided without any physical harm to anyone. Road Safety Lesson (Road Safety Lesson and Investigation) Fuel Leaks & Ignition Sparks in Motorcycles: When starting or running a motorcycle, the presence of fuel leaks in the carburetor/fuel lines (Fuel Lines) and sparks from the plug wiring (Spark Plug/Wiring) are the main causes of such instant fires. Never start the vehicle if you smell fuel.
Immediate Evacuation and Self-Defense: In the event of a sudden fire on a motorcycle or vehicle, jumping away immediately without staying on top of the vehicle can prevent clothing from catching fire and causing severe burns. Fire Fighting and Shop Preparedness: Keeping a small dry chemical powder (DCP) fire extinguisher cylinder or sand/water ready in main road side shops is of great help in controlling such unexpected fires within seconds.

වෙළෙඳසැල අසල නවතා තිබූ යතුරුපැදියට සෙබළුන් දෙදෙනා නැගී එය පණගන්වා (Start) ඉදිරියට ධාවනය කිරීමට සැරසෙත්ම, යතුරුපැදියේ කාබියුරේටරය හෝ එන්ජින් කලාපයෙන් එක්වරම ගිනිදැල් ඇවිලී ගොස් ඇත. ඒ සමඟම සෙබළුන් දෙදෙනා ක්ෂණිකව යතුරුපැදියෙන් ඉවතට පැන ආරක්ෂිත ස්ථානයකට දිවගොස් තිබේ.
අනතුර දුටු වෙළෙඳසැලේ සිටි පුද්ගලයෙකු වහා ක්‍රියාත්මක වී ජලය රැගෙන විත් ගින්න නිවා දැමීමට කටයුතු කළ අතර, සෙබළුන්ගේ ක්ෂණික විමසිලිමත්භාවය සහ ක්‍රියාකාරීත්වය හේතුවෙන් කිසිවෙකුටත් ශාරීරික හානියක් සිදු නොවී විශාල විපතක් වැළකී ගියේය.
