Never Cross In Front of or Behind Stopped Buses (නතර කර ඇති බස් ඉදිරියෙන් පාර නොපනින්න): මගීන් බස්සවා නතර කර ඇති බස් රථයක් ඉදිරියෙන් හෝ පිටුපසින් මාර්ගය හරහා මාරුවීමෙන්, එම බස් රථය පසුකර අනෙක් පසින් වේගයෙන් පැමිණෙන වෙනත් මෝටර් රථ හෝ යතුරුපැදිවලටද පදිකයා නොපෙනී යයි. පාර මාරුවිය යුත්තේ බස් රථය එම ස්ථානයෙන් ඉවත්ව ගිය පසු හෝ නියමිත පදික මාරුවක් (Zebra Crossing) භාවිතයෙන් පමණි.
Driver Situational Awareness & Mirror Checks (රියදුරු සුපරීක්ෂාකාරී බව): බස් නැවතුමකින් හෝ මගීන් බස්සවා නැවත ධාවනය ආරම්භ කරන සෑම අවස්ථාවකදීම රියදුරන් ඉදිරිපස දර්පණ (Cross-view mirrors) සහ වටපිටාව හොඳින් පරීක්ෂා කර බැලිය යුතුය. මෙම සිදුවීමේදී රියදුරුගේ ක්ෂණික ප්‍රතිචාරය ප්‍රශංසනීය වන අතර, හදිසි අනතුරකදී පෙර රෝහල් සත්කාර සඳහා සැමවිටම 1990 සුවසැරිය ගිලන්රථ සේවාව හෝ 119 පොලිස් හදිසි ඇමතුම් අංශය අමතන්න.
🚨 Security camera (CCTV) footage has recorded how a woman who tried to cross the road recklessly from a close proximity to the front blind spot of a private bus that was ready to resume driving after dropping off passengers on a suburban road, survived being run over by the bus. When the bus was about to drive forward, the driver's immediate observation and prompt braking (Prompt Braking) stopped the bus a few inches before hitting the woman's body. If the driver's attention was lost even for a moment, there was a full possibility of being hit by the front wheels of a heavy vehicle and causing an instant fatality. The woman's life was saved without any physical damage due to the careful vigilance of the driver.

The Deadly Front Blind Spot of Heavy Vehicles: Since the driver's seat in buses and lorries is high, children or pedestrians who are traveling close to the front bumper of the bus (about 5-10 feet in front) are not directly visible to the driver (Direct Blind Spot). Jumping into the road so close to a stopped bus or lorry is a fatal offense tantamount to suicide. Never Cross In Front of or Behind Stopped Buses: By crossing the road in front of or behind a bus that has dropped off passengers, the pedestrian will not be seen by other cars or motorcycles speeding past the bus. Cross the road only after the bus has left the station or by using a designated pedestrian crossing (Zebra Crossing).
Driver Situational Awareness & Mirror Checks: Drivers should check the front mirrors (cross-view mirrors) and the surroundings carefully every time they start driving from a bus stop or drop off passengers. The immediate response of the driver in this incident is commendable and always call 1990 Suvasaria Ambulance Service or 119 Police Emergency Department for pre-hospital care in case of an accident.
