🚨 A 7th grade school student has lost his life in a tragic car accident today (10/07/2026) at around 07:15 in the Bigbone area of the Nortonbridge - Hatton main road. Jeiram Paulridge, a 7th year student at Nortonbridge Kanapathy Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, who was a resident of Bigbone, Nortonbridge, has unfortunately passed away. While he was cycling towards the city to buy some household items in the morning, the accident took place when he collided with a Hatton Depot Langama (SLTB) bus running from Hagarapitiya to Hatton on the steep and winding road section. Due to the collision, the bicycle was hit by the front wheel of the bus and the student was seriously injured and the bus staff immediately took him to Dik Oya Base Hospital where he died. The police have reached the spot and have started extensive investigations. Child Cyclist Safety & Protective Oversight: It is the responsibility of parents not to allow small children to cycle alone on narrow mountain highways where heavy vehicles travel. Immediately after an accident, instead of picking up the injured without proper paramedic supervision, they should immediately contact 1990 Suvasaria Ambulance Service and arrange for them to be hospitalized with proper medical treatment.

උදෑසන කාලයේ නිවසට අවශ්‍ය ද්‍රව්‍ය කිහිපයක් මිලදී ගැනීම සඳහා ඔහු පාපැදියෙන් නගරය දෙසට ගමන් කරමින් සිටියදී, හගරාපිටියේ සිට හැටන් දක්වා ධාවනය වූ හැටන් ඩිපෝවට අයත් ලංගම (SLTB) බස් රථයක බෑවුම් සහිත සහ වංගු සහිත මාර්ග කොටසේදී ගැටී මෙම අනතුර සිදුව ඇත. ගැටුමත් සමඟ පාපැදිය බස් රථයේ ඉදිරිපස රෝදයට හසුවී යටවී යාම හේතුවෙන් සිසුවා බරපතළ තුවාල ලබා ඇති අතර, බස් රථයේ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් ඔහුව වහාම දික්ඔය මූලික රෝහල වෙත රැගෙන යන අතරතුර ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත්ව ඇත. පොලීසිය එම ස්ථානයට පැමිණ මේ වන විට පුළුල් විමර්ශන ආරම්භ කර තිබේ.
