A morning head-on collision between a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle and a Bajaj Three-Wheeler on a narrow byroad in Dheliwa, Monaragala, left both drivers with injuries and caused severe vehicular damage.

A serious traffic incident occurred yesterday morning on a narrow byroad in Dheliwa, coming under the Dambagalla police division in Monaragala. The collision involved a black Bajaj Pulsar 150 motorcycle and a blue Bajaj RE three-wheeler, which crashed head-on while navigating a restricted section of the roadway. The impact of the crash was exceptionally severe. The three-wheeler's front windshield was completely shattered and dislodged, while its front mudguard, single-wheel support, and roof frame sustained heavy structural damage. Similarly, the motorcycle suffered extensive wreckage, including a smashed headlight, a bent handlebar, and broken plastic cowlings, rendering both vehicles virtually inoperable. Both the three-wheeler driver and the motorcycle rider sustained varying degrees of physical injuries. Alert residents in the area swiftly intervened, rushing the injured victims to the Dambagalla / Monaragala District General Hospital for urgent medical treatment. The traffic division of the Dambagalla Police Station is conducting further investigations into the incident. Navigating narrow rural byroads requires extreme vigilance and strict speed control. Because these roads lack center lines and passing clearance, speeding leaves little margin to avoid a head-on collision when encountering oncoming traffic unexpectedly. Motorists must always prioritize defensive driving to ensure community road safety.
