🚨 An accident occurred yesterday (2026/10/07) when a private passenger transport bus (NCG Express) traveling in the same direction collided with the back of a Langama bus which was running in front of a Langama bus in the center of Warakapola on the Colombo - Kandy (A1) main road. In this collision, the rear glass of the Langama bus was completely crushed and the rear body part and bumper were damaged, while the front left door, glass, roof part and bumper of the private bus that came behind were severely crushed. Passengers were traveling in both the buses at the time of the accident, but none of them were seriously injured. The accident also disrupted traffic in the busy city centre. "Photographs of this accident are published to help create a society free from road accidents through safe driving."

Aggressive Driving & Time Targets: Due to chasing each other to get passengers on the same road, the stopping distance required to control your heavy vehicle is lost as soon as a vehicle in front slows down. Passenger Seat Safety and Emergency Exits (Passenger Safety): Passengers traveling in the rear seats of a bus are at a high risk of being injured by glass shards and concussion in such collisions. මෙම ගැටුමෙන් ලංගම බස් රථයේ පිටුපස වීදුරුව සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම කුඩුවී පසුපස බොඩි කොටසට සහ බම්පරයට හානි සිදුව ඇති අතර, පසුපසින් පැමිණි පෞද්ගලික බස් රථයේ ඉදිරිපස වම්පස දොර, වීදුරු, වහල කොටස සහ බම්පරය දැඩි ලෙස පොඩිපට්ටම් වී තිබේ. අනතුර සිදුවන අවස්ථාවේ බස් රථ දෙකෙහිම මගීන් ගමන් කරමින් සිටියද, කිසිවෙකුටත් බරපතළ මාරාන්තික තුවාල සිදු නොවී දිවි බේරාගැනීමට හැකි විය. අනතුර හේතුවෙන් කාර්යබහුල නගර මධ්‍යයේ රථවාහන ගමනාගමනයටද බාධා එල්ල විය.

නගර සීමා තුළ ආරක්ෂිත පරතරය නොතැබීම (Inadequate Following Distance in Urban Hubs): නගර ආශ්‍රිතව සහ බස් නැවතුම් ආසන්නයේ ධාවනය වන බස් රථ මගීන් ගැනීම හෝ බෑම සඳහා ක්ෂණිකව තිරිංග යෙදිය හැක. පසුපසින් ධාවනය වන බර වාහන අවම වශයෙන් තත්පර 3-4 ක හෝ මීටර් 25-30 ක ආරක්ෂිත පරතරයක් නොතැබීම මෙවැනි පසුපස ගැටුම් (Rear-end collisions) වලට ප්‍රධානතම හේතුවයි.
