Sinhala Content 🚨 An accident occurred tonight (2026/11/03) when a tree fell on a passenger train that was running from Colombo Fort to Rambukkana near Polgahawela railway station. Due to the bad weather conditions and strong winds and rain across the island, a large tree on the side of the railway has suddenly fallen on the carriages of the Class S12 type power unit (DMU) train which was running like this. Although the tree caused minor damage to the train's roof and door-window covers, fortunately, it is confirmed that none of the passengers inside the train were physically harmed. Due to this disaster situation, train operations on the main railway line (Main Line) have been temporarily halted, and the railway maintenance workers are still working hard to remove the tree blocking the road and restore the railway line. "Photographs of this accident are published to help create a society free from road accidents through safe driving." 📷 Photo Credit: Original Owners (Accident 1st Community Network)
