🚨 Today (2026/10/06) a three-wheeler that was going to the main road after taking fuel from a petrol station at Tummulla intersection in Colombo was completely gutted by a sudden fire in the morning. Immediately after the fire broke out, the filling station employees and local residents tried hard to put out the fire using fire extinguishers, but due to the spread of the flames, it could not be controlled. Then, two fire tenders of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) Fire Service Department rushed to the spot and took steps to completely extinguish the fire, but even then all the internal components and frame of the tricycle were completely destroyed. Fortunately, no casualties or serious burns were reported as the driver ran away immediately after the fire broke out. J. Immediate Evacuation Protocol: If you see smoke or flames inside a vehicle, you should immediately jump out of the vehicle and go to a safe distance without trying to save any belongings. As there is a risk of the fuel tank exploding, bystanders should keep a safe distance of at least 15-20 meters. Fire Safety Preparedness & Emergency Contacts: Maintenance of proper quality small dry chemical powder (DCP) fire extinguisher and regular inspection of fuel system is mandatory especially in passenger transport 3 wheelers and commercial vehicles. In the event of a sudden fire, call the Colombo Fire Service Unit (011-2422222) or 119 / 110 immediately. If there are injured call 1990 Suvasaria.

ගින්න හටගත් ක්ෂණිකවම පිරවුම්හල් සේවකයින් සහ ප්‍රදේශවාසීන් අතැති ගිනි නිවන උපකරණ (Fire Extinguishers) උපයෝගී කරගනිමින් ගින්න මැඩපැවැත්වීමට දැඩි උත්සාහයක නිරත වුවද, දැඩි ලෙස ගිනිදැල් පැතිර යාම නිසා එය පාලනය කරගත නොහැකි විය. අනතුරුව කොළඹ මහ නගර සභාවේ (CMC) ගිනි නිවන සේවා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ගිනි නිවන රථ දෙකක් කඩිනමින් එම ස්ථානයට ළඟා වී ගින්න සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම නිවා දැමීමට පියවර ගත්තද, ඒ වන විටත් ත්‍රිරෝද රථයේ සියලුම අභ්‍යන්තර උපාංග සහ සැකිල්ල සහමුලින්ම විනාශ වී තිබිණි. වාසනාවකට මෙන් ගින්න හටගත් වහාම රියදුරු ඉවතට පැනීම නිසා කිසිදු ජීවිත හානියක් හෝ බරපතළ පිළිස්සුම් තුවාල වාර්තා වී නොමැත.
"ආරක්ෂාකාරී රිය පැදවීමක් තුලින් මාර්ග අනතුරු වලින් තොර සමාජයක් බිහිකිරිමට, මෙම අනතුරෙහි ඡායාරූප විමසා බලා සිහියේ තබා ගැනීමට උපකාරීවනු පිණිස පලකරනු ලැබේ."
